February 2016.

During the months July 2015 through to January 2016 we have been working more or less seven days a week keeping up with the demand for our chimney sweeping services.

I usually go through a list of areas I have covered in my blogs but this season I have covered more or less the whole of Kent, vast swathes of South East London and also ventured into quite a few areas in East Surrey and it would take me hours to name them all.

I would like to, as usual, thank all of our customers old and new for your continued support in using the services of www.clivescottchimneysweeps.co.uk and the endless recommendations that have been passed out over the years.

Oh and the cups of tea, coffee, also the cakes and biscuits that you kindly offered and which I consumed throughout the long winter sweeping season were are all very much appreciated!!!!

As many of you know, and for those of you that don’t, I am also a Course Tutor and one of the Senior Mentors at The Institute of Chimney Sweeps (ICS) which are based in Maidstone, Kent.

The role I have in this organisation is now taking up quite a bit of my time as apart from the Chimney Sweeping Courses I instruct on, I am spending a lot of time traveling around the South East of England, mainly Kent, Surrey and Sussex, mentoring, assessing and giving advice to chimney sweeps old and new.

For those of you out there not in the know, i.e.mainly the general public, ICS are the largest sweeping association in the UK and are committed to the promoting of chimney safety and awareness.

Daniel and Norma Kemp, who are ICS directors, along with Pete McCalla, ICS’s Chief Administrator, continually and tirelessly work alongside Kent Fire and Rescue to try to get the message across to the general public that by having your chimney swept by a registered, competent and fully insured and trained chimney sweep will not only help keep you safe from the harm of a chimney fire or even worse the deadly effects of *CARBON MONOXIDE POISENING*

Chris Sargent,*ICS’s Principal Tutor,* Liam Kinsella, *Senior Mentor and Course Tutor* Dany Kemp *ICS Director* and myself, have over the past few years, come across some horrific situations regarding chimney safety and bad wood burning stove installations and over the coming blog’s I will try and incorporate some of them for your reading and information.

I will also go on in some detail with regards to the new phenomena which is taking the chimney sweeping world by storm, Power Sweeping

Until my next blog take care and be safe.
Regards Clive…………Clive Scott Chimney Sweeps
